A contemporary new home in Hāwea with a strong focus on craftsmanship, character and the thoughtful reuse of materials.

Designed by Lucas at Minimal Design and built by Southern Homes, the project incorporates carefully selected recycled materials throughout, including rimu skirting and architraves, blackwood flooring and repurposed kitchen joinery.

The reclaimed timber brings warmth and character to the home, giving existing materials a new life within a modern build.

It’s a great example of the kind of considered building we love — quality detailing, interesting materials and close collaboration between builder, designer and client.
